Working together for better outcomes - an update on ACC’s service commissioning approach
Ensuring our kiritaki (clients) recover from their injuries quickly and get back to independence is a priority for ACC.
We’re continuing to improve how we work to better support you and the people of Aotearoa – from prevention, to care, to recovery. A large part of this is looking at how we plan, purchase and monitor health services (commission for services) to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the Accident Compensation Scheme.
Since September we’ve been setting our priorities and workplan for 2025, including our new approach to commissioning.
Watch the video below to hear Deputy Chief Executive for System Commissioning & Performance, John Bennett, and his team discuss what our future commissioning approach means for providers and suppliers.
Next year we’ll be changing the way we engage with the health sector and commission services, with a focus on working with suppliers and providers of health services – the experts in helping injured people – to design solutions that achieve better outcomes for kiritaki.
We’ll be working towards open sharing of outcome data to increase transparency, strengthen relationships, and give New Zealanders greater choice in their recovery journey.
Early next year we’ll hold a series of multi-disciplinary engagements focused on opportunities to improve client outcomes. We plan to take a collective approach to solving common problems for client cohorts. Look out for more information in the new year.
