Work with us as an Outsourced Clinical Advisor
ACC is seeking applications from certain specialist groups to become Outsourced Clinical Advisors (ORCA).
We‘re seeking applications from those in the following vocationally registered professions, who have at least five years of post-registration experience:
- Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists
- Fertility Specialists
- Infectious Disease Specialists
- Maxillofacial Surgeons
- Neurologists
- Oral Medicine Specialists
- Orthopaedic Surgeons
- Paediatricians
- Pain Medicine Specialists
- Psychiatrists
- Radiologists
- Rheumatologists
- Urogynaecologists
The purpose of the ORCA role is to provide written guidance to aid ACC’s decision on a client’s cover and/or entitlement. It’s important to note the ORCA is not the decision maker, but their guidance will help inform ACC’s cover/entitlement decision.
Guidance on cover requires a comment on whether the client has a physical injury that was caused by an accident. Guidance on entitlement requires comment on the causal link between the covered injury and the need for the entitlement, and/or comment on whether the requested entitlement is necessary and appropriate to treat the covered injury.
This is a contracted service with payment on a fee-for-service basis.
- The payment for guidance related to surgical cover/entitlement is $300 +GST per task.
- The payment for guidance related to medical cover/entitlement is $500 +GST per task.
Successful ORCA applicants are required to:
- register as ACC vendors, if not already registered
- be onboarded to use the ACC systems required for the role
- complete an online induction, which includes an outline of ‘cover’ and ‘entitlement’ within the ACC legislative context and introduces the ACC systems that are used to provide advice.
You will be able to access fixed payments for your time once you’ve completed onboarding onto ACC’s systems and at the completion of the induction process.
ORCA are provided with an ACC email address and access to ACC’s systems via Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). You will be required to sign a privacy agreement prior to accessing ACC’s systems.
