Royal commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care
On Tuesday 12 November 2024 there will be a formal government apology to survivors of abuse in care. This will be a significant day for survivors.
ACC recognises the significance of the Royal Commission of Inquiry in Abuse in Care and acknowledges the bravery and courage of the many survivors who shared their experiences.
If you’re currently supporting a survivor of abuse in care, please be aware they may seek your support during this period. Due to the increased focus and media activity, there may also be more people seeking support.
Survivors of abuse in care can access the Survivor Experiences Service. This is a supportive, confidential place for survivors to share their experiences. Survivors and whānau can access the service by:
