Helping you develop SMART goals – checklist now available
We’ve updated the Sensitive Claims Service Report Guidelines to include the checklist used by our recovery partners and assistants to review SMART goals. This is to help you as you develop SMART goals for kiritaki (clients).
SMART goals are the ‘stepping-stones’ toward achieving the larger goal of recovery or improved functioning for kiritaki with a mental injury. Goals should be related to the covered injury or a barrier to treatment of the covered injury.
Below are the other key updates we’ve made to the Report Guidelines in response to your feedback and questions:
- Use of pre-approved services: Pre-approved services do not need to be included in the planned services section of reports.
- Timeframe of goals: The quality criteria for reports have been updated to be clear that goals can be worked on concurrently or sequentially to other goals, as long as each recovery goal is clear.
- Recovery goal example: The first SMART goal example has been revised to demonstrate best practices in goal creation.
- Total expected package duration: Clarified instructions on what to include in the 'Total expected package duration of all services listed above' section of the Wellbeing Plan.
We’ve also updated the Operational Guidelines for the Sensitive Claims Service to make a few things clearer. A summary of the changes is available on our website alongside the updated Operational Guidelines.
The revised documents are available on the resources section of our website:
