Elective Surgery Services – Request for Information now open
ACC has today released a request for information (RFI) to seek input and ideas on innovative business models for providing surgical capacity for ACC kiritaki (clients), with a focus on shoulder surgery.
As a large funder of health services, it’s important ACC continually looks at how to drive greater value for New Zealanders and deliver better outcomes for kiritaki.
Through this RFI we’re seeking feedback from the surgery sector and interested investors on how we could work together differently to provide elective surgery services for shoulder injuries in a more efficient, equitable, and client-centric way.
We’re specifically seeking approaches and ideas that will create additional surgical capacity for ACC kiritaki and improve access to current capacity. We’re also keen to hear how any proposed commissioning models could enhance kiritaki outcomes.
The RFI document and full information are available on the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS). To enable us to move at pace and quickly act on opportunities presented through the RFI, the deadline for submissions is 25 June 2024.
We encourage all those interested to take the time to participate in the RFI process. Responses may help shape the scope and direction of any potential future procurement process for elective surgeries, which could give rise to significant business opportunities and influence the development of elective surgery service provision in New Zealand.
We appreciate timeframes are tight and this RFI comes at a time when there’s significant pressure on the healthcare sector. Suppliers are not expected or required to submit a response. If you do not respond to the RFI, this will not impact or exclude you from any future tender process.

Questions can be submitted via GETS. The deadline for questions is 5:00pm 14 June 2024.
