View non-work claims online and get notified about work claims

Released 15/07/2024

The Recovery at work tab now shows non-work claims information

We’ve added new functionality to the Recovery at work tab in MyACC for Business.

You’ll now be able to access to real-time information about employee injury claims for accidents that happened both at work and elsewhere. With this information, you’ll be able to start the conversation earlier with your injured employee and support them on their recovery journey.

The tab contains information from the medical certificate relating to the employee’s work status. View if your employee is fully unfit or fit for selected work, dates they are expected to recover, and any work restrictions that may apply.

Restrictions and exclusions

The main difference for non-work claims is that you won’t see information relating to the injury and accident description. This also relates to work-related injuries involving a motor vehicle.

You’ll also only see non-work claims if there is weekly compensation set up.

As with all claims, there are restrictions and claim types that won’t show in the Recovery at work tab.

  • If an employee changed employers since the accident date
  • If the accident was over 12 months ago
  • Certain claim types may be excluded for privacy reasons. Examples of these include serious injury.

We’ve introduced automatic notifications when your employee has an injury at work

To help you better support your injured employee, we’ll email you a notification for new claims relating to injuries that happened at work.

You’ll be able to view claim information including the injury and accident description, and dates and work restrictions outlined on their medical certificate.

This means you’ll be able to see when your employee is expected to recover to help plan for their recovery at work.

We’ll also send a notification when your employee moves from a fully unfit to a fit for selected work medical certificate, so you can talk about what a gradual return to work look like.

Who can view this information?

If you are an employer with a Workplace Cover Policy, you will be able to view your employee’s work-related claims information in MyACC for Business.

You’ll need to confirm that the injured employee was working for you both at the time of the accident, and now, before you can view this information.
