Express your interest: Supporting ACC's policy and strategy development

Two people shaking hands.

We’re seeking new panel members to join our Scheme Customer Advisory Panel.

ACC’s Customer Advisory Panels have a long history of supporting ACC to listen to the voice and stories of people across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Scheme Customer Advisory Panel is a joint stakeholder reference group of ACC and MBIE which contributes to the continuous improvement of the design of the Accident Compensation Scheme (the Scheme).

The panel has an important advisory role in the development of scheme policy and strategy. Together, panel members provide strategic, experiential, and technical advice to constructively challenge, support and enable improvement of the Scheme.

We’re currently welcoming expressions of interest for ACC and MBIE’s Scheme Customer Advisory Panel.

We need members who have:

  • A sound understanding of the Scheme and current Scheme settings.
  • A sound understanding of the machinery of government.
  • Substantive experience with strategic and futures thinking.
  • A broad policy, operational and governance perspective to draw on.
  • An ability to speak to employment relations and/or employer responsibilities in relation to the Scheme.
  • An ability to speak to Te Ao Māori, dual framing, and embedding Te Tiriti in government settings.

Members should also:

  • Be enthusiastic and passionate about contributing to the continuous improvement of the Scheme.
  • Have the confidence to actively join in helpful and open dialogue in a group setting.
  • Demonstrate the ability to share a variety of views, concerns, and feedback of others, including those of clients, providers, and suppliers of ACC’s services.

Members will also be selected to reflect cultural, age, gender, and geographic diversity, with intentional recruitment of Māori and disabled members.

Being on the panel

Members will join up to 11 others and will be paid for their time (excluding public sector representatives).

We will meet on a regular basis to advise on relevant, important policy and strategic initiatives or programmes (every 4-12 weeks for up to 3 hours).

Overall, the Scheme Customer Advisory Panel will be a critical ally and supporter of ACC to challenge, support, and enable us to strengthen the Scheme to deliver improved outcomes for clients and whānau now, and in the future.
