Congratulations to Māori Sports Award winners
We’re proud to have partnered for this special countdown of the most influential Māori sportspeople through the past three decades.
Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches and administrators on the Māori Sports Awards list of the 30 most influential Māori sportspeople over the past 30 years.
We're proud to have partnered with Māori Sports Awards for the special countdown, as part of our commitment to reducing injuries among Māori and their whānau.
This year's awards were in the form of a three-part television series, and follows the cancellation of the 2020 awards due to Covid-19 restrictions.
As a partner, we're excited to see so many strong, active sportspeople leading the way for Māori in achieving their sporting goals.
Encouraging Māori to keep healthy and active through sport is one of our goals. Sport is a huge part of the New Zealand way of life, and plays an important role in our communities. So, we want to help everyone stay injury-free for every season.
We recognise that sport is a powerful enabler of hauora (physical, mental, social and spiritual health) and wellbeing. ACC SportSmart can support hauora, through preparing athletes throughout the season, and helping with recovery after activity.
We partner with many sporting organisations – NZ Rugby, Netball NZ, NZ Football, Touch NZ and League – to lead and deliver the ACC SportSmart injury prevention programmes.
