Minister for ACC, Hon Matt Doocey, has appointed Dr Tracey Batten as Chair and David Hunt as Deputy Chair to the Board of ACC.

Dr Batten first joined ACC’s board in February 2019 before becoming Deputy Chair in January 2022. She has been the Acting Chair since December last year.

Dr Batten, who holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University, has over 30 years international experience in the health care sector, including 15 years in CEO roles of large, complex, hospital groups.

Mr Hunt, an economist with extensive public and private sector experience for both government and business organisations, joined the Board in September 2021 and has been Acting Deputy Chair since December.

“Both appointments will maintain strong leadership and governance to lead ACC into the future as it marks its 50th Anniversary,” Hon Minister Doocey says.

Along with confirmation of the Chair and Deputy Chair, fellow board member Mark Cross has also been re-appointed by Hon Minister Doocey.

Mr Cross has been a board member since August 2021 and is also Chair of the ACC Board Investment Committee.

ACC Chief Executive Megan Main welcomed the appointments and the collective skills and experience they bring to the organisation as ACC continues to embed its new 10-year strategy, Huakina Te Rā.

“Tracey, David and Mark have already made such a significant contribution to ACC and their appointments provide stability at an important time for the organisation.

“I have no doubt that with them and the other board members guiding our direction, we will continue to make a positive difference for all New Zealanders.”
