ACC Board commission review into workplace culture

Independent review will evaluate ACC’s workplace culture and the experiences of employees, as well as existing policies, systems and procedures relating to inappropriate conduct and behaviour.
The following statement is attributed to ACC Board Chair Dr Tracey Batten
An important role of any board is to ensure an organisation is fostering an inclusive and values-based culture where employees role model the right behaviours.
Today the ACC Board has commissioned an independent review to evaluate the workplace culture of ACC. On behalf of the Board, I’m committed to ensuring that ACC has a workplace culture that feels safe and inclusive where people feel supported to speak up.
The intent of this review is to evaluate workplace culture at ACC and the experiences of employees, as well as existing policies, systems and procedures relating to inappropriate conduct and behaviour, and whether ACC has appropriate measures in place to deal with any inappropriate conduct and behaviour.
Doug Craig, Director at RDC Group, and Pip Muir, Chair and Partner at law firm Simpson Grierson, have been appointed to conduct the review and will begin their work next week.
All employees who wish to will be able to participate through a confidential and independent process.
I have spoken to the Minister for ACC, Hon Scott Simpson, who supports the review and has outlined his expectations both for the review and in ensuring that ACC is providing a safe and positive workplace culture for employees.
Findings and recommendations from the review will be presented to the Board in early June and will then be shared publicly.
